General Death Doula Services

My services are designed to be unique and specific to your needs. Below is a non-exhaustive list of some of the services that I offer. A complimentary exploratory phone call is always provided so we can identify what kind of support you might want or need.

End of Life Planning - I work with folks to explore end of life choices, identify logistical help and resources, and provide assistance with advanced care directive paperwork and post-death arrangements. I can also help you identify your support team and help you make care plans to share with your loved ones and care team so that your wishes and agency are always prioritized.

Legacy Work: How do you want to be remembered? Do you have a special project that you would like support with finishing? I can help you write goodbye letters to loved ones, record your story, do an art project help you write your own obituary, and more.

Emotional Support - I support people by being a compassionate and sensitive container for anyone to process the grief of a terminal diagnosis/end of life. I also assist in facilitating family discussions around death and dying, and provide caregiver/family grief support.

Ritual/Ceremony Guidance - It is an honor to guide people through planning or creating ritual(s) around grief/death and dying, as well as helping with plans or execution of a memorial service/celebration of life.

Vigil Work - Vigil work is planning for active dying. We create care/wishes documents for your care team, arrange for occasional respite vigil work for family members/support community, and make sure that you and your loved ones will feel supported and held during this tender time.

MAID/DWD Coordination and Care

I assist terminally ill Oregonians access Medical-aid-in-Dying/Death with Dignity by connecting them to doctors/organizations who can consult and prescribe the life-ending medication. I also assist with paperwork, facilitating conversations with family members/support team, and working congruently with hospice or your care team to prepare you for what your intentional death might look like. I am available to help with planning and coordination of additional care and resources, and am available to be present at the bedside during the entire process, from ingestion of the medication until death. I also help coordinate this care for terminally ill people who are coming to Oregon to die from another state, including helping individuals and families find temporary housing for the eligibility process, and a safe and legal place to take the medication.

Families have appreciated having a point person to help them through the logistics of qualifying under the law, who can additionally be present with them on the day of death to monitor medication timing, provide bedside support and care, and coordinate with the funeral home/body disposition choice.

I have been at the bedside of many people who have made this choice and it is an honor and a privilege every time.

Grief and Bereavement Care

One-on-One Grief Care: I provide a nurturing container for you to process your grief, help to identify additional resources to support you, and assist in creating a comfort plan to hold you on your grief journey. This is a space to feel seen and held in your grief, however that looks like for you. These can be scheduled as drop in sessions, or on-going work together.

Grief Ritual Planning - I help people create personal or communal grief rituals that help provide support and connection during times of grief or mourning.

Community Grief Support: I offer online and in-person community grief support and education through grief groups, workshops, classes, creative activities, community vigils, and more. Please see check out my events for upcoming offerings.

Death and Grief Education

I love being able to share my knowledge and lived experiences with folks through speaking engagements, workshops, webinars, private grief circles, and more.

I work with organizations, businesses, larger companies, conferences hospice groups, community organizers, and more to bring inclusive death and grief care and education to the table through a compassionate and intersectional lens. Presentations, speaking engagements or facilitation of groups can be completely customizable to you or your organization’s needs.

Funeral Celebrant Services

As a funeral celebrant, I offer a creative and compassionate approach to commemorating the lives of our loved ones. I am honored to provide personalized funerals, memorials, celebrations of life, and living funerals that are just as unique and non-traditional as you’d want them to be. I have a background in design and event planning and use my creativity to help you create something that celebrates the individuality of the person being honored. I take deep pride in co-creating a meaningful and heartfelt tribute with folks that honors life in all its beauty and complexity.

Legacy & EOL Photography

When my mom was dying, I knew I wanted as many photos of her as I could possibly have. Photographs are tangible memories of our loved ones and are powerful testimonies to their connection with the world and those around them. I offer Legacy sessions for those who are facing a terminal illness as well as end of life pet photography, where I capture both humans and pets in their final weeks of life. I have 10 years of experience as a professional, documentary-style photographer and provide these sessions to individuals and families on a sliding scale/donation based fee.
